Both of these work but out of the two the gypsum stick is better so that is the way forward. However I still feel as though it is too soft for what we need and breaks down too quickly.
Just before Christmas I tested out a recipe for home made pumice sticks. I used a 1/4 cup to measure out the ingredients as follows: x3 cups water x1 cup plaster x3 cups pumice simply mix all ingredients together and pour into a mould. I decided to invest in some silicone trays for making ice cubes. Using silicone means the sticks will be easy to remove once set. Due to the cold weather these have taken a while to dry so looking forward to getting back into the studio to test them out Over the past few months I have been printing a selection of these old stones from M-shed in Bristol which is for project that artist Charlotte Biszewski is currently working on. The current aim is to pull prints off these stones which will create some kind of book/ artwork documenting the images and Bristol's print history.
